The Little Rock Nine was a group of people that made a big difference in the academic world for black students. The group contained nine people by the names of: Ernest Grein, Elizabeth Eckford, Jefforson Tomhas, Terrence Roberts, Corlotta Walls Lonier, Mimnijean Bown-Trickey, Gloria Ray Karlmark, Thelma Mother-Shed-Wair, and Melma Pattillo Beals.During the Civil Rights Movements, black people were treated very poorly and weren't considered equal to white's. On, Monday September 23rd 1957, the Little Rock Nine were escorted by police into the Little Rock's Central High-school. They were the first blacks to attend this high-school.
This was a major jump for the black education.
